Wood Therapy
Another one of nature’s gems to contour and aid the body
Wood therapy has so many benefits that go beyond aesthetics! Each wooden tool has its own function that heats up fat tissue, breaks down fat cells, redirects fluid and drainage towards lymph nodes, and tightens the skin, which results in a smoother, more toned appearance. Depending on the area being treated, wood therapy can also aid in muscle recovery, improve circulation, increase metabolism, and eliminate toxins. This holistic therapy is perfect for postpartum abdomen treatment or those with certain restrictions. For best results, 6-8 sessions (1-3 times a week) are required as well as following pre- and post care instructions.
Pre-treatment Care
1. DRINK DRINK DRINK WATER! Drink at least 2 liters of water (daily) the day before, the day of, and 72 hours after treatment. Drinking water is crucial to aid in flushing out broken down fat particles and toxins that are excreted through the lymphatic system. If they are not flushed out, they remain in the body, which lowers the rate of results.
2. Avoid heavy meals and carbs the day of treatment and DO NOT eat 2 hours before treatments. This allows the body to metabolize the broken down fat and toxins instead of working to break down complex molecules.
3. DO NOT consume caffeine, alcohol, or carbonated drinks for 24 hours before treatments as these can cause effects that work against the treatment and lessen results.
4. Remove any lotion, oils, or products from your skin before the treatment.
5. Shave any body hair on and around the area to be treated.
6. Wear comfortable, loose fitting clothes on the day of treatment. If getting photos taken, please wear appropriate undergarments. This service includes ultrasound gel that can get on clothes depending on the treated area and if clothes are kept on.
7. Please do not book any abdominal procedures around time of menstruation as they can lead to increased bleeding and/or cramps.
8. Make your nurse/technician aware of any medical or health conditions (allergies, past surgeries, implants, diseases, etc.) prior to the procedure just in case adjustments need to be made.
Post-treatment Care
2. Limit caffeine and carbonated drink intake. Avoid alcoholic drinks for 48 hours after treatments as these can cause effects that work against the treatment and lessen results.
3. Use an ice pack to reduce swelling, stiffness, and bruising.
4. Avoid saunas, spas, hot tubs, or strenuous exercise for 24 hours. Early sweating can cause leakage of products before they are absorbed which will lessen results.
5. Massage the treated area daily to prevent fat and toxins from becoming stagnant.
6. Maintaining a healthy balanced diet and regular exercise is important to increase results.
7. Wear a waist trainer or any form of shapewear after each session to maximize results.
8. Book your next session as recommended by your therapist.
9. Consistency! Everyone’s body reacts differently to therapy. Results may be seen as early as 2 weeks but do not get discouraged if not. Full results can take 1-3 months to realize as nonsurgical body sculpting is a gradual process.
